Photoelectric Sensors

Photoelectric sensors are widely used in industrial automation for material handling and presence detection. They detect objects in a variety of materials, shapes, and sizes, and can be used in hazardous environments. Photoelectric sensors are available with a variety of outputs, such as PNP/NPN, relay, analog current, or voltage. They can also be used with fiber optics, or diffuse, retro-reflective, or through-beam sensing techniques. Generally, they have an infrared light source and a receiver, which uses an amplifier to detect the object when it breaks the light path.
